t was during the 2000 parade of champions in Rio, someone asked who made the porta-bandeira (flag bearer) and mestre-sala (ballroom master) for SambaLá. When they found out it was Doris, she was invited to stay in Rio and design costumes for a big samba school. Instead, she returned to LA to her studios and husband and continues to make more beautiful costumes with each passing year.
