oris, a native of Rio, currently lives in the United States in Long Beach California, a city of about 1/2 million people 30 minutes south of Los Angeles. While her studio is in Long Beach, she travels frequently to the garment district in downtown Los Angeles and works and travels to Brazil where she get some of her supplies and design ideas.
She is married to David de Hilster and has one daughter Luanda.
